Although it looked like it was going to storm, the weather held off so volunteers from Carolinas HealthCare System could plant 272 trees. BBQ provided by North Carolina growers was enjoyed by everyone. View photos of the event on our Flickr page.

TreesCharlotte is partnering with Carolinas Healthcare System to plant approximately 500 trees on the campus of Community House School.

In addition to volunteers from CHS, we are inviting volunteers from the general public to help out. To ensure a safe and enjoyable event, we are limiting the number of volunteers to 150 for this TreeDay. Register early, as our events “sell out” quickly.

Tree planting events are great for families and everyone is welcome.  To ensure accurate active volunteer counts, please list all participants on the registration form, along with children’s ages and t-shirt sizes. Children 16 and younger must be accompanied by an adult.

A free lunch will be served, buffet style, starting at noon until the start of the event.

Tree planting events are held rain or shine.  A modest rainfall actually provides ideal planting conditions.
