This White Oak stands by an original farmhouse built over 220 years ago. The tree was planted before the construction of the house and stands in a row of other extremely large White Oaks. These Oaks likely lined a pasture and provided a large amount of shade for those operations. The property has been in the same family for hundreds of years, although some of the surrounding land has been sold off over the years. The man in the original photo is the current homeowner, photographed in 1992! The owner noted that Hurricane Hugo (1989) damaged every single tree on the property except for this Treasure Tree.
