While TreesCharlotte strives to celebrate, expand, and protect the tree canopy in Charlotte, we also want to protect the health of our supporters, volunteers, and partners from risks associated with COVID-19. We appreciate your continued interest in volunteering with us even in these difficult times. Please read through our new event protocols here before registering.
Having completed a NeighborWoods Application TreesCharlotte is pleased to partner with the Thornhill neighborhood to plant trees in their common areas and to provide trees to their residents. Volunteers, please scroll to the end for details.
We will conduct a drive-thru TreeStore at the Thornhill pool parking lot on Sat, Oct 24, for residents to pick up and plant trees in their own yards! What a great way to add more shade and beauty to your neighborhood.
Residents, here’s what you need to know:
You’ll be able to choose from the following trees when you register (registration link below opens at 10am Oct16). Quantities are limited. Register early to ensure the best selection.
Selections are final and once registered, cannot be changed. Be sure to research which tree will work best for your yard before registering.
We are recruiting 40 volunteers and 14 TreeMasters to help plant trees in the common areas and manage the TreeStore the morning of Oct 24. Register early as our events “sell-out” quickly. 30 spots remain
Tree planting events are great for families and all ages are welcome. To ensure we operate within State and CDC guidelines, we cannot accept walk-up volunteers at the event. Children 16 and younger must be accompanied by an adult.
Volunteer groups of 10 or more, please contact events director, Zack Agerton to determine if there is enough capacity.
Events are held rain or shine. Details of the event will be emailed to registered volunteers the week of the event.
Deadline to register to volunteer is Sunday, October 18.
