This Loblolly Pine was struck by lightning in 2015. Its trunk split vertically towards the base and its Treasure Tree tag was knocked off. Since then, the tree has healed nicely. The tree sits very close to the Hunter House, which once stood as a large farmhouse surrounded by acres of land. There is a large prevalence of pecan and other specialty trees on this property, leading the homeowners to believe that their home was built on land once used as a grove for the Hunter House. The homeowners believe that this Loblolly Pine was planted in a decorative grove by the original family of the Hunter House.
