This Chinkapin Oak once stood at the back of the property. It was cabled for support. The tree was removed in the winter of 2020 due it becoming diseased.

  • Ecological Value: Chinkapin Oaks are native to North Carolina and belong in the White Oak family. They are good shade trees and unlike most other oaks, are relatively disease and pest resistant. Leaves look more like those of a Chestnut than a White Oak.
