TREASURE TREES
#021 Eastern Red Cedar (Juniperus virginiana)
Once located on the same property as the Black Walnut in the original Treasure Trees program (#022), this Eastern Red Cedar suffered after being struck by lightning. It had several large limbs missing, according to the original nominator, Dr. David Royster. When the new church sanctuary was built in 2002, the construction crew cut down the tree.
